Body = Just one week out of school and many families are wondering
exactly how they will manage the remainder of the summer with kids,
jobs, and complicated lifestyles. More importantly, how do you make
these summer months productive for the children? #1 Education Place
has the answer. A variety of programs have been designed to meet
the educational needs of all students throughout
the summer months. The Academic Camp offers half-day and full-day
programs for children entering Kindergarten through grade 5. A special
program is designed to meet each child’s educational needs
and goals. Summer workshops for middle and high
school students focus on special topics such as math readiness,
foreign language brush up, or study skills. For those high school
students who failed to complete
required classes, or simply have the desire to “get ahead”,
SACS accredited credits are offered. For more than five years, Judy
Blake and Anita Kane have answered the needs of the Western communities
with their flexible approach to educating and supporting
area families and their children. Year round offerings include private
tutoring and home school support programs for those looking for
alternatives to the public and private school offerings in the area.
“Since we both live in the western communities and are parents,
we saw the need for this type of service”, explained Judy
Blake. Judy and Anita each have more then twenty years of teaching
and administrative experience. They have a unique approach to education
that is a combination of their Montessori training and their experiences
as mothers and teachers. “In the Montessori philosophy, what
is important is to provide a safe and comfortable environment suited
to the developmental needs of the child”, said Anita Kane,
“Children naturally want to learn and challenge themselves;
they really want to do well. In this model, knowledgeable teachers
nurture the drive to learn for even the most disco uraged students.
We all want to be successful at what we do, some of us just need
a bit more time, guidance, and encouragement.” To visit Education
Place, or inquire about any of their many programs, call 561-753-6563.
