Katarina Vavrová and Peter Velikov receive top art competition prizes

Press Release Summary = Two artists and printmakers, Katarina Vavrová from Slovakia and Peter Velikov from Bulgaria have won Grand Prix (first prize) at two different top international art-competitions. The Grand Prix at the Tokio International Mini Print Triennal 2005 was won by Vavrová and the First Prize at the 11th international triennial for small graphic and ex libris in Ostrow Wielkopolski, Poland, was won by Peter Velikov.

Press Release Body = Katarina Vavrová, an artist and printmaker from Slovakia and a member of the team of BestNetArt Artists, has won the Grand Prix (first prize) at the Tokio International Mini Print Triennal 2005. This is a great achievement, as only the best artist in the world participated. Out of hundreds of work a print by Katarina Vavrová was chosen as the winner. The winner of the same competition 2002
was Dimo Kolibarov from Bulgaria, also a member of the BestNetArt Artists. Work by these two artists can be found at the BestNetArt Artgallery. He has recently won the First Prize at the 11th international triennial for small graphic and ex libris in Ostrow Wielkopolski, Poland. An art expert has written about the etchings made by Peter Velikov as follows; "They are enriched by different cultures, mythological and historical layers. The artist cleverly combines in his compositions the human figure with architectural forms and flora and fauna motives."
