One of those ideas is to introduce a facility by which deaf people can communicate via webcam.
The spokesman added: \"We think this would be a great way for deaf people to interact and make friends - which is the purpose of the site.
\"Deafies is run by deaf and hard of hearing people and we are learning how to create and run a site as we go along.\"
Deafies is particularly keen to hear from other organisations which serve the deaf community so they can place links on their site as a service to deaf people generally.
