Press Release Summary: Happy Day Preschool, a ministry of the First Presbyterian
Church in Petaluma, introduced Jeana Downey as the new Preschool Director to the
congregation as well as the public on Sunday July 27, 2008. Downey was introduced to
the congregation by Church Elder Jeannette Anglin in a Larry King type interview.
Anglin highlighted the fact that Downey was the answer to many prayers.

Press Release Body: Downey graduated from Sonoma State University in May with a
Masters in
Education after graduating from the same school with a double-major
Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Human Development. She has been a
preschool site supervisor and worked as an assistant for several years at
the Sonoma State Preschool. Downey also spent many summers at Westminster
Woods near Occidental as camp counselor and child care director.

Anglin announced that the school is now fully staffed and Jeana not only will
maintain the quality program, but add and restore programs and activities to the
school. Starting with exiting quality staff, Downey has hired additional well
qualified teachers and assistants that share her vision.

Downey\'s passion is play-based learning. Children are guided by staff in
learning and studies show the vast majority of progress and development of
preschool children is a result of their individual exploration through
experimentation, discovery, and play. Downey continues plans for a unique curriculum
where
teachers facilitate the process by proactively working with individual
children as they explore the world around them at Happy Day School.
